We collect information you provide and information generated by your use of Muvy:

• Account and profile information: email address, display name, username, profile photo, cover photo, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
• Library and activity information: titles you log as watched, watch-later entries, custom lists, ratings, favorites, follows, and social activity you create in the app.
• Preferences: language, content regions, notification settings, appearance preferences, and privacy settings such as activity visibility or default list privacy.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active Muvy Pro subscription. Payment details are processed by Apple or Google, not by us directly.
• Support messages: information you send when you contact us by email.

Muvy does not use advertising tracking tools, ad pixels, or behavioral advertising cookies. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-context advertising.

To keep Muvy reliable and improve the product, we use analytics and error-monitoring services. These help us understand crashes, diagnose bugs, measure performance, and see how features are used so we can fix issues and build a better experience.

Through these services, we may collect technical and usage data such as device type, operating system, app version, screen or page views, feature interactions, crash reports, and error logs. We configure them to avoid collecting unnecessary personal information and use this data only to operate, secure, and improve Muvy — not for advertising.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your account, library, lists, and activity feed.
• Sync your data across devices when you are signed in.
• Send optional push notifications about follows and activity when you enable them.
• Process and display subscription entitlements for Muvy Pro.
• Show public share previews on muvyapp.com for content you choose to make public.
• Protect Muvy, troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
• Improve features, performance, and user experience.
• Respond to support requests and improve the service.

The Muvy website shows read-only previews of shared links. Media detail pages are public. Profile pages, custom lists, watch-later, watched, and favorite list pages may be visible to anyone with the link when the related profile or list is not marked private. Private profiles and private lists are not published on the web.

You are responsible for the profile details, photos, lists, ratings, favorites, and activity you choose to make public. You can adjust visibility settings in the app.

We use trusted service providers to operate Muvy:

• Apple and Google for sign-in and subscription billing, when you choose those options.
• TMDB and Trakt for movie and TV metadata, ratings, and related content.
• Sentry for crash reporting and error monitoring.
• PostHog for product analytics, including how features and screens are used.
• These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. Muvy is not endorsed by or affiliated with TMDB, Trakt, or other third-party content providers.

If you upload or choose a profile photo or cover photo, we store and display it as part of your Muvy profile. You can change or remove these photos from the app. We do not access your photo library unless you choose to grant permission through your device.

Muvy does not use advertising cookies. The website may use storage or cookies required to operate the site, remember essential preferences, protect the service, support authentication-related flows, and support the analytics described in this policy.

You can control your data in the app:

• Set your profile to private or adjust activity visibility in Settings.
• Enable or disable push notifications and notification categories.
• Clear cached app data from Settings.
• Delete your account permanently from Settings. This removes your account, library, lists, and activity and cannot be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a privacy request, contact hello@muvyapp.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Muvy does not sell your personal information. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not engage in those practices, we do not offer a separate opt-out for sale or sharing.

We keep account, profile, library, list, activity, and subscription status information while your account is active and as needed to provide Muvy. We keep support messages as long as needed to respond to your request and maintain support records.

When you delete your account, we delete associated personal data from active systems, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup cycles.

Muvy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Muvy is available internationally. Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using Muvy, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Muvy after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
